African Drum and Dance

African Drum: 5:00pm to 6:00pm
Moustapha Diedhiou is a master drummer from the Casamance region of
Senegal. After an illustrious career with several dance companies in Senegal,
including Ballet Bougarabou, Moustapha settled in the Hudson Valley and
continues to teach djembe, djun djun and kutiro drums.
African Dance: 6:00pm to 7:30pm
Assane Badji Sylla is a professional dancer, choreographer, drummer and fire-
eater from the Republic of Guinea in western Africa. Assane has travelled theworld as the artistic director of Ballet Bourgarabou, teaching traditional WestAfrican dance to hundreds of people. Assane and his dance ensemble, Melody
Africa, bring an exciting celebration of Guinean and Senegalese song, music
and dance.
$20/class or $35 for both
